Rink Attendant

Key responsibilities include:
- Accountable for the cleaning/disinfecting of dressing rooms, washrooms and common areas inside and outside of the arenas.
- Replenish supplies of toilet paper and hand soap and empty and wash garbage receptacles throughout shift.
- Sweep and mop stands, lobby, washrooms, and dressing rooms throughout shifts.
- Collect user fees when required.
- Patrol during public skating times to ensure a fun and safe environment for all users.
- Model proper and safe skating etiquette, including wearing proper protective equipment.
- Ensuring proper documentation is completed for all checks, tasks, accidents and incidents.
- Assist with the set up, take down and/or supervision of scheduled ice and floor rentals, special events, tournaments, and programs.
- Assist operator with ice floods and other ice maintenance as required and moving and pegging nets.
- Maintain facility quality and safety by adhering to predetermined safe operating procedures.
- Perform winter maintenance, including shoveling snow and salting around the arena.
- Respond to inquiries from users, participants, and spectators, direct them accordingly.
- Follow arena policies and procedures.
- Assist arena operators, colleagues and contractors as required.

Key responsibilities include:
- Arena ice making and maintenance duties, including but not limited to ice making, ice resurfacing, edges, scrapes, and refrigeration plant checks.
- Operate cleaning equipment as required and assist with cleaning/disinfecting between user groups.
- Ensure the security of the facility and that it is opened and closed at scheduled times.
- Responsible for safe preventative maintenance, equipment checks, annual maintenance and minor repairs as assigned (i.e. minor plumbing, re-lamping of light fixtures, changing ceiling tiles, fire extinguisher/emergency lighting checks, blade changes etc.) with minimal supervision.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, care of tools and equipment and adhering to predetermined safe operating procedures.
- Communicate with the public with a positive customer service approach to provide information regarding the facility, to arrange room rentals, etc.
- Monitor user functions to ensure that building security is maintained, and the rental contract is adhered to.
- Assist with set-up and take down of event spaces for functions/rentals.
- Maintain building grounds, litter picking, shovel snow, clear ice in winter, etc.
- Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g., incident/accident reports, logbooks and checklists including shift duties).
- Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor/Manager on Duty and take appropriate action.
- Attend team meetings and training as required.
- Assist work crews as required.
