COVID-19 RESPONSE
RETURN TO ICE FOR PERMIT HOLDERS

As we reopen it is critical to share the below information:
Arrival at the Facility
While in the Facility
While Exiting the Facility
- Physical distancing is always required.
- Game play is not permitted at this time.
- Screening of all individuals entering the facility is the responsibility of the permit holder (including parents/guardians). If anyone in your group is feeling ill, they should not come to the site or enter the facility. We strongly encourage all participants to use the Ontario Self-Assessment online screening tool at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/.
- The permit holder is responsible for collecting contact information for all participants, parents/guardians and staff/coaches in each group. This information should be kept according to the direction of the local Health Department for a minimum of 30 days.
- People who live in regions under more stringent zones are strongly discouraged from entering a Clarington facility. i.e. If Clarington is Orange – regions who are Red or Gray are not permitted.
- A maximum of 10 skaters are allowed on the ice, plus 2 coaches and 1 trainer. You cannot substitute a skater for a coach or trainer under any circumstances.
- The number of people in the entire facility cannot exceed 50 maximum.
- Spectators are NOT permitted;
- Exception to the above, 1 parent/guardian per skater under the age of 18 years;
- Siblings are NOT permitted in the facility, no exceptions
- The permit holder will be responsible for putting in place a plan that aligns with the provincial requirements for social distancing and appropriate on ice activities.
Arrival at the Facility
- Do not arrive to the facility more than 20 minutes before your start time to line up outside.
- Groups will be let in 10 minutes prior to the start time for their permit.
- Come dressed in lower body equipment with a face mask on, line up on the designated spots.
- Once your complete group has arrived, Arena Staff will open the door to let you in. Do not attempt to enter the facility until all members of your group are present.
- A place dedicated to each skater (chair) will be made available to put on upper gear and skates.
- Parent/guardians will be allowed in the facility and must sit in the designated area and must wear a mask at all times. Staff will monitor and notify the permit holder (or coach) if there are any concerns or capacity numbers are exceeded. Failure to follow these guidelines will put future permits at risk of cancellation.
While in the Facility
- Face masks can be removed to participate on the ice but must be put back on to exit the facility.
- Participants will have 10 minutes to enter the facility, put on upper gear, skates and enter the ice.
- All personal belongings (i.e. shoes, water bottle, hat) should be kept on or under the participant's designated chair.

- Players benches and penalty boxes will be off limits.
- Changerooms will remain closed at this time.
- Access to a washroom will be provided and accessible from the arena; no one should enter the lobby for any reason.
- Water fountains are not available at this time, so please bring your own, filled water bottle to the arena with you.
While Exiting the Facility
- There will be a designated exit directly from the arena. That door should be the only door used to exit the facility.
- Participants can remove their skates, upper gear, helmet and gloves. A face mask must be worn before leaving the assigned chair.
- All participants will need to exit the building prior to the next group entering the facility.
- Once participants have cleared the arena, municipal staff will use the remaining 10 minutes between rentals to clean and disinfect high touch points and the areas that have been accessed.
